The part that has to happen at a fixed time is short. The theory is online and you do it whenever suits; only the practical session is scheduled, and for CPR that is 1.5 hours and for the full first aid unit 3 hours. That is usually easier to fit around a roster than people expect.
The knowledge component is completed online in your own time before you attend. The practical component cannot be done remotely — skills have to be demonstrated and assessed in person — so there is always one face-to-face session.
That split is why the classroom time is short. You are not sitting through theory you could have read at home.
Do the online component across a couple of quiet shifts or days off, then book the practical for a day you are not rostered. Because the statement of attainment is issued the same day you attend, there is no waiting period afterwards to plan around.
If your certificate is close to expiring, book the practical before the expiry date rather than after — employers generally care about the date on the certificate, not when you started the course.
Unit 19a/21 Northumberland Street, a short walk from Liverpool station, with Westfield Liverpool parking nearby. That makes it workable whether you are coming by train or driving in between shifts.
Create a Unique Student Identifier if you do not already have one — it is free, takes a few minutes, and a nationally recognised certificate cannot be issued without it. Then check with your employer which unit they require, so you book once.
1.5 hours for CPR (HLTAID009), 3 hours for Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and 3.5 hours for the education and care unit (HLTAID012).
